How to Drive in a Roundabout

Okay, now that we have even more roundabouts in Kennewick with the Blue Bridge construction moving along, this is important. People on the GetConnected Tri-Cities mailing list are writing almost every day about near-death experiences due to ignorant, uninformed drivers who don’t have a clue about how to drive through a roundabout.

WSDOT has a somewhat lengthy video on this web page that everyone should watch. I’ll embed a shortened version of it here.

Seriously, people, you have to slow down when you approach a roundabout. It’s not like driving through an intersection with a green light in front of you. Slow down, and if there’s anyone in the roundabout already, stop and yield — they have the right-of-way. It’s really not complicated. Take your time and stop treating the roundabout like a racetrack.
