Small Business Marketing Workshop in Kennewick

Kennewick Events | Comments (0) Matt McGee February 16, 2010 @ 3:20 pm

Hey small business owners — sorry for the late notice, but there’s an excellent online marketing workshop happening this Thursday (yes, two days from now) in Kennewick. It’s called Learn About web, and we’ll be sharing actionable ideas and tips on things like web design, SEO, social media (Facebook, Twitter, etc.), and local search (Google Maps, Yelp, etc.).

If you’re interested in learning how to get more customers via the Internet, please come out and join us. This isn’t one of those lame, fly-by-night seminars with people coming in from somewhere else promising instant riches. No, all the speakers are local to the Tri-Cities and we know there are no shortcuts to online success. It takes hard work and a plan, and that’s what we’ll helping small business owners do.

You can check out the full schedule and from there, you can sign-up online. Registration is only $99, which is a bargain compared to what you’ll pay for hourly consulting. It’s happening at the Home Builders Association facility on Clearwater Avenue.

Here’s a video we did in which I explain one of the sessions I’ll be giving, about SEO and Local Search:

Hope to see you on Thursday!

Home for Christmas concert was terrific

concert

Cari and I are still talking about the Home for Christmas concert that took place Sunday night at the Toyota Center in Kennewick. The music was great — terrific musicianship, excellent arrangements, and fabulous singers. Monte Ingersoll has a straight-from-Heaven voice, and the other singers who performed were excellent, too. I told some friends afterward that it was 10,000x better than I expected it to be. The show lasted more than 2.5 hours, with only a 20-minute intermission in the middle.

They’ve done this concert several times before, but usually at local churches. This was the first time in the Windermere Theatre at the Toyota Center, and the 2100 seats were pretty close to sold out. Haven’t heard how much money was raised for charity, but I’m betting it’ll be a nice amount. (You can read more about the local charities who will benefit from the concert at HomeForChristmas.org.)

Our kids loved it, too — it was our daughter’s first concert, and she was clapping and singing along through the songs she knew. We’ll definitely do it again next year. During the show, Monte hinted that they might try to do the show over a couple nights next time.
