Ranch and Home is one of the most well-known businesses in the Tri-Cities, and they’re celebrating 37 years in business this year. Customer Appreciation Days start tomorrow and run through the end of the month, with a special event this coming Saturday, April 17. We asked R&H’s Daniel Berman to give us the full scoop:

Ranch and Home will be hosting a Customer Appreciation BBQ at our Kennewick location at 845 N Columbia Center Blvd. on April 17th. There will be free hamburgers, hot dogs, and Coca-Cola products from 11AM – 2PM.

As a family-owned business and a Mid-Columbia native, we are celebrating 37 years in business this year! In appreciation for the loyalty of the Mid-Columbia, we are giving special savings in a number of different departments. Sephora Coming to Columbia Center Mall

Sephora, the well-known cosmetics and beauty supply store, will open a store later this year at the Columbia Center Mall in Kennewick. It’s not a full-blown Sephora like you may have visited in bigger cities, but a smaller outlet inside JCPenneys — like a store-within-a-store setup.

Someone at KEPR-TV was so excited by the news that they ran this headline: Sephora Coming Soon!

There’s no exact date for the Sephora store to open, other than “later this year.” JCPenney has already posted a job listing for a “Sephora Beauty Manager.” Here’s part of the job description:

JCPenney, with over 1,000 stores nationwide, and SEPHORA, the leading beauty retailer in the US, have partnered in creating a ”store-within-a-store,” establishing one of the most innovative approaches in the beauty retail industry.

If you are an experienced Retail Manager (Cosmetics/Beauty experience a plus) with a passion for serving customers, an ability to collaborate and lead across functions, and a desire to drive a new business model, we have an immediate opportunity for you to join our WINNING TOGETHER team. There are already Sephora stores inside JCPenney’s in Spokane, Vancouver, Puyallup, and Silverdale.

GESA Opens New Branch in South Kennewick

Add GESA Credit Union to the list of businesses that are helping south Kennewick grow by leaps and bounds lately. GESA recently opened a new branch at 4500 W. 27th Avenue with a month-long series of promotions and events that culminated with a “Community Celebration” on April 3rd.

The new facility is “LEED-certified,” which means (in a nutshell) that it’s green-friendly and used energy-efficient concepts in its design and construction.

We haven’t done of these in a while, so let’s get caught up on some recent Kennewick business news.

• New York Richie’s is a new pizza parlor that’s now open at 5011 W. Clearwater Avenue. The restaurant serves New York-style pizza and sandwiches, Philly cheese steaks (as a Philly native, I’ll be able to judge the authenticity), and a couple pasta dishes.
• Sandstone Creamery is now open at 104 West First Avenue in Kennewick. The ice cream parlor is a sister business to Sandstone Cafe, an eatery that offers breakfast and lunch.
• Rainier Patents now has an office at 7025 W. Grandridge Blvd., Suite A, in Kennewick. The company helps tech sector companies protect their intellectual property.
• Meadhow Hills Veterinary Center opened a new clinic at 3711 Plaza Way in South Kennewick a couple months ago. MHVC does great work with all kinds of pets — we’ve been taking our dog to their Richland location for more than a year now.
